Product Update

Production: October 5, 2023​

This Product Update provides a summary of changes and enhancements to the existing application that impact all customers. When applicable, it includes changes to functionality that were made to resolve customer-specific issues and that apply to all Tenovos users. Product Updates occur frequently and are separate from Release Notes.

Unless otherwise stated, the availability of each update is as follows:

  • UAT: September 27, 2023
  • Production: October 5, 2023
  • Availability: All customers

Metadata Attribute Tooltips​

This update provides Metadata Attribute Tooltips to Beta Feature Flag customers.

  • Add a 100-character description to any of your metadata attributes.
  • Displays an information icon next to each attribute configured with a tooltip on every screen where metadata can be entered.
  • Tooltips are configured from the Admin > Metadata > Attributes screens when creating or editing an attribute.

Duplicate Management​

This update provides a new experience to duplicate management for Beta Feature Flag customers.

  • From the Content page, a new menu option has been added that allows you to Manage Duplicates.
  • This new page allows users to view all duplicate files in the system from an easy-to-use page.
  • Users can immediately see if duplicate assets have any related assets.
  • All users have access to see duplicates. Security Template permission still drives the ability to delete.

Search Relevancy​

This update provides a new experience to Search for Beta Feature Flag customers.

This feature introduces a fundamental change to the way searches are performed in Tenovos and provides significantly improved search results to users. With Search Relevancy, customers will experience:

  • No pills in the search bar for each term (pills have been removed from the search bar).
  • No need to use double quotes to match an exact term/phrase.
  • The Match Any/All (AND/OR) toggle is no longer needed (the toggle has been removed from the UI).

The updated Search feature employs Relevancy scoring to search results based on the following hierarchy of relevance:

  1. Matching the entire search term/phrase in a single field
  2. Matching all the search terms (same as the AND operator)
  3. Matching any of the search terms (same as the OR operator)

Within each relevant category above, the relevancy scores are boosted in the following order:

  1. Search terms found in metadata.
  2. Search terms found in filenames.
  3. Search terms found in text extracted from the document.
  4. Search terms found in Technical Metadata.
    NOTE: If you have Technical Metadata searching disabled, assets with search terms found in Technical Metadata will not be returned.

📝 You'll notice the amount of search results is higher than before, but the assets you're really looking for....they are at the top.

📝 Additional near-term updates also improve the search of technical metadata to support search values only with case insensitivity and allowing Administrators to control their own ordering of the relevancy order. Stay tuned in October for these updates.

API Updates​

This update provides significantly improved performance of the Tenovos REST API for Beta Feature Flag customers.

  • More than 350% faster response times!!!
  • Fully backwards compatible, you only need to change the base url you are calling.

📝 We know this is a big one...don't worry 😉, it'll be out of Beta before you know it!

📝 Please note, our APIs that return links to the asset renditions now provide PNG renditions so that transparency is always preserved.

UI Updates​

  • Resolved an issue in the UI causing misalignment of Project Associations on Rights Management screens.
  • Resolved an issue where the incorrect mouse cursor was displayed on the Rights Agreement and Project pages.
  • Resolved an issue where video asset thumbnails were not clickable in List View.
  • An update was applied to make all required field indicators the same. The use of both asterisks and bars is now standardized on bars. These will be shown even on system fields so that users also know which system fields (Metadata Template and Security Template) are required.
  • Resolved an issue causing non-required fields to not show up when creating a Proof.

File Type Support​

  • Support was added to the file types identified below, allowing for transformation sharing.
    • .aep (application/vnd.audiograph)
    • .lnk (application/x-ms-shortcut)
    • .indb (application/x-indesign)
    • .aif (audio/aiff)
  • Support was added for InDesign Templates, enabling PDF renditions.

Other Enhancements & Quality Improvements​

  • Resolved an issue where searches were unable to save the Targeted Search criteria.
  • Resolved an issue where InDesign files were unable to be reprocessed.
  • Resolved an issue causing the Clone Asset feature not to function correctly.
  • Enhanced the Metadata Edit experience so that values chosen from dropdowns are no longer available for selection once used. Only unused values are displayed for selection.
  • Resolved an issue causing proofs to show up as Restricted in the Proof Inbox.
  • Enhanced the SHIFT + CLICK experience to function more intuitively.
  • Resolved an issue causing degradated performance on Insights reporting data.
  • Resolved an issue on the Admin > Metadata > Attributes screen where the applied search term was not being respected after attribute changes were made.
